imageThere are some common mistakes that many people make when starting a fat loss program.  Here are some of the things you can make sure you avoid before you get started.  Even if you have already started a weight loss diet you can easily change these mistakes. The first mistake is not measuring your food.  It’s easy to think that you can guess by eye and that it will be accurate.  However, in reality the portion size is usually much more than you think. People also make guesses about how much calories they are consuming which isn’t effective either.  It may seem annoying at first but keeping a food diary and measuring your food and calories can really improve your weight loss success. Another mistake to avoid is when using spoons and cups to measure your food.  If you are already measuring your food with cups and spoons then you may think that your eating the right amount of food/calories.  However, if you have a heaped spoon rather than a level amount or under the rim then you can be eating more calories than you think you are.  To avoid this make sure that when you measure with the spoon/cup that you also double check with scales.  You only need to do this in the beginning until you become efficient at measuring the right amount. The mistakes above aren’t the only mistakes you could be making but they are a good place to start and improve upon to make your fat loss journey more successful.
